Spokane Violent Crime Gang Enforcement Team

MISSION STATEMENT

The Spokane Violent Crime Gang Enforcement Team (SVCGET) shall provide effective and efficient service to the citizens of Spokane and Spokane County in the enforcement of gang related crime and the tracking of criminal gang activity.

The team will conduct proactive gang related investigations, conduct follow up investigations, provide gang intelligence, assist other agencies with gang cases, develop relationships with other agencies, provide gang related training to these agencies and provide gang education to the public.

MULTI-AGENCY TEAM

The SVCGET consists of one City Lieutenant (SIU), one County Lieutenant (ISU), one City Sergeant, one County Sergeant, two City Detectives, two County Detectives, four City Patrol Officers, one County Deputy, and one City Clerk.

Currently the ATF is providing two agents, and the FBI is providing one agent.  The Department Of Corrections participates by including its eight gang DOC officers.

CASES

The SVCGET investigates all types of crimes to include drive by shooting, felony assaults, illegal drug and gun sales, home invasion robberies, robberies, burglaries, felony domestic violence cases, felony harassment and felony theft and/or fraud.

These cases must have a gang nexus. Our primary focus is to work proactive gang cases that will have a impact on the criminal street gangs.

PROSECUTION

Cases that are investigated by the Gang Enforcement Team are either prosecuted by the Spokane County Prosecutors Office, or the United States Attorney General’s Office.
