Spokane Police Investigate Fatal Home Intrusion Incident |

*Additional information: A large knife was recovered from the scene which is believed to belong to the deceased.
At approximately 7:00 last night, Spokane police officers responded to a report of a shooting at 6017 N. Wall. A witness on scene stated that a man known to the homeowners had entered the home through a doggie door. The homeowner fired a shot and killed the intruder. The homeowners stated that they had been receiving threats from the individual who was shot and believed that he was armed with a large knife at the time of the shooting.
Officers attempted CPR on the shooting victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Major Crimes Detectives served a search warrant and conducted a search of the scene. All involved parties were cooperative with the police investigation.
No arrests have been made and the investigation will be forwarded to the Prosecutors Office when complete.
An autopsy is being conducted today. The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the shooting victim.
