MISSION STATEMENT
The Spokane Police Department (SPD) and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Records Division is managed in accordance with Departmental rules regulations,policies/procedures, as well as the Division’s standard operating procedures to:
- Collect, process and protect all records filed within this Division
- Maintain accurate and complete record of reported information
- Increase public confidence with the Spokane Police Department and Sheriff's Office by providing access to our records in a timely manner, as authorized by law
- Promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system through improved coordination and cooperation from this Division.

Members of the Records Division shall recognize that our service to the public, law enforcement, and criminal justice agencies is the primary focus of the department. Members of the Records Division will assist customers with the highest level of courtesy and professionalism.

Concealed Pistol Licenses, Firearm Dealer Licenses, and Used Goods Dealer Licenses are issued through the SPD Records Division. Please call (509) 625-4030 for detailed narratives regarding the above licenses, or click below for the application forms. All forms are in PDF format. Please note that the Spokane Police Department Records Division no longer processes For-Hire and Cab Vehicle Licenses. They are now issued through City Hall. You can contact them with any questions at 625-6070.

Once past the 90 days after your expiration date it is considered to be a new application. The initial application is subject to a 30 day waiting period. If you live outside of Washington State, a 60 day waiting period is in effect. The license is valid throughout Washington State, but you must apply for the license in the county in which you reside. You must apply in person with photo identification with your current address. We accept cash or check only.
